Deer Park Mountain Shelter located in Madison, North Carolina. I did some research on what deers eat. Which they eta plants, fruits, grass, and twigs.  And then I also looked up if they were along the Appalachian trail. I also remembered from my childhood a lot of my friends parents use to hunt deer and they have them mounted on the walls of their home. So then that gave me the idea. 

I chose the antlers only because I wanted to keep it simple. And I also did not want to be so literal in my approach. I chose colors to represent the the blue ridge mountains. And I added a mount and the wood texture to represent the actual deer mount.
